Friday, March 18, 2016 - 09:00 to 18:00

The Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC) in collaboration with its industry partners the Barbados Manufacturers Association and the Barbados Tourism Product Authority will be  hosting the second “Barbados Uh Come From” Marketplace on Thursday March 17, 2016 from 9 am to 6 pm.

The one-day event which will  see the display and sale of locally manufactured goods and an exciting array of entertainment will stretch from the entrance of the Bridgetown Port along the length of Trevor’s Way, along the BIDC’s lawns  and into the Pelican Craft Centre. Other attractions will include a mini heritage museum and a sampling café.  The event will play to what we believe will be a captive audience of tourists with some 6,700 visitors expected in port on this day, not to mention the many Barbadians who will be encouraged to patronize the event.

The Marketplace is being hosted as part of our export thrust and in particular aims to increase onshore exports and create an expanded market space for local producers to sell their goods to the thousands of tourists expected for the remaining period of the winter season.  The event is also intended to increase visitor spend on the island, a much needed objective at this time.
